Zhejiang Wolong Energy Storage System Co., Ltd. and Capstone Green Energy have successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for projects involving battery energy storage and microturbine solutions. The agreement, signed at Capstone headquarters on September 12th, 2024, follows both companies’ participation in the RE+ Show in Anaheim and demonstrates a shared commitment to the future of renewable energy.

Capstone Green Energy, a California-based manufacturer of microturbine solutions, has been at the forefront of microturbine technology for over three decades. The company offers customers a range of commercial, industrial and utility-scale options ranging from 65kW to multiple MWs, and offers a flexible Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS), which includes build, own, and operate models as well as rental services.

As Capstone develops it’s new energy storage solutions strategy to serve its customer base, it will consider Zhejiang Wolong Energy Storage System Co., Ltd. as a potential Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for battery energy storage solutions for the North American market.

These commercial discussions come as Zhejiang Wolong Energy Storage System Co., Ltd. – part of The Wolong Group, a global leader in electric motor and drive technologies, aims to grow its presence in North America by providing safe, reliable and efficient battery energy storage solutions. Currently, Wolong offers battery energy storage products from 261kwh to 5MWh and plans to offer its commercial and utility-scale solutions alongside Capstone’s microturbine technology for microgrid projects in North America.

The signing of this MOU and ongoing discussions between Wolong and Capstone illustrate both companies’ commitment to solving the energy challenges facing the world today.
